On Wisconsin! On Wisconsin!

I just LOVE Wisconsin- everyone needs to visit there- if only to read signs like this at the airport-
see churches like this EVERYWHERE-
for signs like this...
for the accents and fun sidewalk prints like this (and YES they really do use these words in this way)
for decadent home- made pies like this...(rhubarb)
(cherry) thanks Uncle John!
for homes that look like this-
and farms that look like this-
and this-
and for quirkyness that comes out in many forms- but my California husband isn't even going to know what to do with the back of THIS car- I love it- Wisconsin really is a slice of Americana in its very best form :)

CULVER'S one of the best things about Wisconsin...

OK- so, WI can do food like no other place I've seen- yes the south has their BBQ- but EVERYTHING in Wi tastes better and is a heart attack waiting to happen- one of the "state treasures" is Culver's- my mouth waters typing the name- they have butter burgers and frozen custard- not yogurt- CUSTARD- and the daily flavors are to DIE for- we went on chocolate eclair day and they threw in a chocolate eclair and mushed it up- for real?!
They have the world's greatest rootbeer- I don't even love root beer and this is something I HAVE to have.
Here are the kiddos waiting for their team scoopie meals- yep!
Here's what Ems did when hers came ;)
And here are a few examples of the delishisness that can be had- ah! I know- who has butterburgers- then double it and add bacon?! This really wouldn't fly anywhere else- but the people of WI LOVE them- and I think if the visitors were brave enough to try them they would be converted.

the Old Wisconsin Sausage Factory...

Our old house is like 5 minutes away from this gold mine-
I remember this bull from when I was LITTLE (like we moved when I was 5) and I am so happy that he is still there! Very little changes in the areas of WI that we visit.
CRAZY yes- all of the left over sausage that didn't get shipped out gets sold here for dicount prices- sooooo happy!
Such a great place :)

Uncle Dave!!!

Emmy was SO happy to be reunited in love and glory with her Uncle Dave- she was a little nervous at first- but then remembered that she LOVED him!

Looking at the Canadian geese-and loving every minute together.

And how could she not have the best time ever with this guy?! We love him and can't wait to see him again :)
