The Jail Guy

Here, in Columbus, convicts are used to maintain the grounds around the city.  Every time that we drive by them- Emmy is fascinated.  She spins endless tales of what they did- wondering if maybe they are in jail due to pushing someone into a pool-- or stealing a child (yep, that's her range of thought).  Well, they were working on our road when we came back from our evening walk~ Emmy was DELIGHTED-- we waved and said thank you for making our neighborhood pretty.  As we walked further down- 2 guys were right in front of our house.  By this point, Emmy was beside herself.  She asked if she could talk to him-- as he was 3 feet away and heard everything-- I, of course, said yes...
Emmy: "Are you a Jail Guy?"
Jail guy: "yep- I am."
Emmy:"Well, what did you do?"
Jail guy: "I sold drugs"
Emmy: "What are drugs?!" (jail guy's eyes widen in surprise)
Me: "I'll tell you about it later~but what's important, is that he isn't selling drugs any more"
Emmy: "Are you making good choices?"
Jail Guy: "yes I am."
Emmy: "good. Well, thank you for doing our lawn. Goodbye!"
 yep.

You have no idea how much I love this. Isn't life with a 4 year old fun? And by the way, because I have a 4 year old, I know that the cockroach is the fastest bug on earth (that doesn't fly). So tell Callan I am super impressed that he caught one, even if his mother wasn't:)
